Transportation

When getting around in Coimbra it is always possible to go for a walk, as there are safe cobbled pavements everywhere. Also, there is an urban bus connection (in the town) and it is easy to catch a bus to go to different parts of town. You can also use a bicycle but there are no designated cycle tracks and Coimbra is a city with quite a few steep roads which may make cycling complicated. The city bus is the only way of commute within the city; they run every 10 to 15 minutes, depending on the bus you take (except at weekends and bank holidays).
